Citrus Producers in Aljaraque and Lepe

The race for the scoop: Why do Huelva’s early citrus fruits make a difference? 🍊

In the world of citrus, time is much more than a measure; it is a quality factor. At Citrofenix, our strategy is focused on dominating the early-season trading window. Thanks to the privileged climate of our farms in Huelva, we manage to harvest fruits at their optimum point of ripeness when the market demands freshness and flavour the most.

Orogros: September’s 🗓️ ambassador

The Orogros variety is our key piece to open the campaign. It is a very early maturing clementine that allows us to start harvesting between September and October.

  • Uniformity and Color: It stands out for its intense orange color and a uniform size that facilitates its commercial release.
  • Internal Quality: Despite its earliness, it offers a sweet and balanced flavor with exceptional juiciness.
  • Reliability: It is a variety well known to the farmer due to its stable behavior in the field.

Oronules: Productivity and natural 🍃 freshness

Following closely behind the Orogros, the Oronules clementine usually enters the scene at the end of September or during the first week of October. It is one of the most valued varieties on the calendar for its ability to ensure an early presence in the market with premium standards.

  • Presentation with leaf: At Citrofenix, we market these clementines with their original leaves to certify their freshness to the consumer.
  • Productivity: It is a variety that stands out for its high production and excellent early coloration.
  • Aromatic flavor: Its thin skin hides a sweet and highly aromatic pulp that defines the flavor of autumn.

Halloween: The Exclusive October 🎃 Window

Finally, our calendar is completed with HW007, known as Halloween. Unlike other mandarins that are looking for a long campaign, this variety is aimed at a specific commercial window linked to the Halloween period. With its morphology reminiscent of a small pumpkin, we close the cycle of early varieties by offering an exclusive product that seeks to replace sweets with fresh fruit.

Our 14 hectares in El Almendral (Aljaraque) and the 25 hectares of citrus fruits in La Cañada del Pilar (Lepe) work in tune with these dates to ensure that, when the consumer is looking for the first flavour of the season, Citrofenix is already there. 🍊✨
